昨日的辉煌

       当下，新冠肺炎全球持续蔓延，形势依然不容乐观，我校作为美国林肯中学的友好交流学校，多次前往该校开展研学活动，为表达我们对友好学校及其寄宿家庭的关心，也为提升我校学生的格局与境界，培养具有家国情怀、国际视野的未来人才，学校特组织参加过美国游学的同学开展制作明信片或写书信的方式表达我们的祝福活动。同学们做到了用心参与、用情表达、用功书画。
       福州教育学院附属中学与美国塔科马市林肯中学，自2008年缔结友好关系以来，两校开展师生交流活动。2015年9月23日在美国访问的国家主席习近平参观了塔科马市林肯中学，欣赏了福州教育学院附属中学学生与林肯中学合唱团学生合唱的中文歌曲《在希望的田野上》和英文歌曲《世界如此美好》。2016年10月12日学校接待了来访的林肯中学的121名师生，两校续签了《建立友好学校关系协议书》。自2016年以来我校每年暑假都遴选部分优秀学生前往美国林肯中学开展交流访问活动，丰富人生阅历，拓展国际视野，提升综合素养。

Dear Principal Erwin,
       I hope this letter finds you well！
       It has been more than four years since we saw each other. The scenes that I led my team to visit your school, students of two schools sang ON THE FIELD OF HOPE and THE WORLD IS SO BEAUTIFUL together in 2015, and you led your team to visit my school in 2016 always come back to my mind.  Every time I recall these scenes, all the wonderful and memorable moments move me so much.
       Since two schools signed the agreement to establish a friendly school relationship, our mutual visits and students' study tours have helped to promote exchanges and friendship between Chinese and American students. We have also accumulated rich experience and achieved good results about mutual communication . So, I would like to express my appreciation for you and your team.
       In the early 2020,  the COVID-19  broke out  in China.Under the leadership of Chinese government, we have made great efforts to get through the tough time and luckily, the epidemic in China has been effectively controlled and the situation is getting better. The number of new local infections of the COVID-19 is nearly  "zero" after two months of hard work. During  this  period,  we have  received support  and encouragement  from many countries and people.
       Through the news , we learned that the situation  of  the COVID-19  in the United States is severe. Teachers  and students  of our  school  are  very concerned about the development of the COVID-19 in the United States and we also want to know about the current situation in Lincoln High School. We hope that the COVID-19  has not affected  the staffs and students in Lincoln High School.  In addition, we want to know whether you need epidemic prevention materials. We will try our best to help you to overcome the difficulties
together.
       I think that the epidemic will be over soon and we will definitely win as long as all human beings work together. At that time, we will  continue to  cooperate  to deepen  our friendship and educate the young generations for a bright future.
       I hope two schools will build a bridge of friendship over the field of "HOPE". May China-US friendship last forever!
I sincerely hope the American people will defeat the epidemic soon. May the teachers and students of Lincoln High School be healthy and safe!

见字如面，展信如晤。
       一晃已经四年余未相见，遥想2015年我带队前往贵校，两校学生合作演唱《在希望的田野上》和《世界如此美好》歌曲，以及2016年您带师生来我校参观访问的情景历历在目，每每回忆，刻刻精彩，时时难忘。两校签订建立友好学校关系协议以来，相互访问研学，促进了中美学子的往来，建立了深厚友谊，积累了丰富的经验，取得了良好的效果。在此，向您和您的团队表示感谢！
       2020年初，中国发现了新冠肺炎疫情。在中国政府的领导下，众志成城、共克时艰，经过2个多月的努力，中国的疫情得到了有效的控制，形势不断向好的方向发展，新冠新型冠状病毒肺炎本地新感染人数每天基本为“零”。在此期间，我们也得到了许多国家和人民的支持和鼓励。
通过新闻媒介，我们了解到美国的新冠肺炎疫情形势严峻，我校师生都非常关注美国疫情的发展态势，也非常想了解林肯中学目前的情况，希望疫情没有影响到林肯中学的师生。同时，我们也想了解贵校在防疫物资上是否有需求，我们将尽力给予帮助，以期共渡难关。
我想，疫情是短暂的，只要全人类共同努力，一定能取得胜利。到时，两校继续深化合作与友谊，培养栋梁之才，共同搭建中美友谊之桥，在希望的田野上，让中美友谊地久天长！

       学校的三十多位同学们用心用情用爱书写信件，向原先夏令营寄宿家庭和美国同学送去了问候，给出了许多的温馨提示，希望大家高度重视，战胜疫情。

       请记得经常洗手，外出要戴口罩，回家要消毒。

       How are things going with you? I miss you so much!
       It's reported that the novel corona virus in the United States is becoming more and more serious. I care about you very much. What's the situation in Tacoma recently? During  the special time, you'd better not go out. Wearing masks and washing hands frequently are the most common methods of epidemic prevention. But staying at home is the best way.
       Now we don't have to go to school. I have online lessons at home every day. So we have a lot of time to do what we like.

       据报道，美国的疫情越来越严重。我很担心你。塔科马市的现状如何？在这个特殊时期，你最好不要外出。佩戴口罩及经常洗手是防御病毒最常见的方法，呆在家中不外出则是最安全的方式。每天我们都在家中上网课，因此有很多时间可以做自己喜欢的事情。

       Especially at this time, you should keep calm, strict disinfection. If you go out, you must wear masks. Of course, I hope you'd better stay at home and avoid contact with others. If you feel bored at home, you can learn to do some new dishes or read a book, learn something new, etc. Listening to music is also a good choice, I recommend Kristian Kostov's songs, they are really OK.

       在这个特殊时期，你要保持冷静，严格消毒，外出一定要戴口罩，最好少出门，避免感染。如果在家感到无聊的话，你可以学做菜，看看书，学习一些新的东西，听音乐也是一个不错的选择。

       First of all, stop going shopping, camping and so on, you will have less chance to be infected with the virus. Second, you know, for over two months, most of us Chinese residents have followed our specialists’ advice. So by now the number of people who were unfortunately infected has sharply been cut down. Third, do more sports to build yourself up. Last, it’s important for you to wear a mask when you go out. it can protect us effectively. That’s all my advice, I wish it would be helpful to you.

       首先，不要随意外出购物、露营等，这样可以降低感染的机率。第二，在过去的两个月里，全体中国人都听取了专家的建议，因此中国的感染人数大幅度减少。所以，你们也要多听取专家的建议。第三，坚持锻炼，强身健体。最后，外出戴口罩是很重要的，口罩对于保护我们可以起到一定的作用。以上就是我的意见，希望对你有所帮助。
